Samsung LCD TV with LED Backlighting Sony Bravia N-Series LCD Flat Panel HDTV Review
Sep 15
Being the leading LCD TV manufacturer, it is not surprising tat Samsung offers a wide range of Liquid Crystal Display television models. They have screens of various sizes and television models with almost the same features thus making it hard for a simple consumer to choose which one to purchase

However, the Samsung LE40A786 LCD TV model stands out. This is because it has the LED backlight feature instead of the usual and conservative CCFL fluorescent lamps. This High Definition capable LCD television then can produce a significantly much better contrast ratio. Additionally, this flat screen model from the A786 series have clusters of tiny LEDs that could be controlled independently unlike those backlight lamps found in traditional LCD televisions that are automatically controlled.

This simply means that the modern LED backlighting technology offers more control in dimming areas of the images in the screen. This gives you a more vivid image resolution. The Samsung LE40A786 LCD TV can give true whites and true blacks.

When we talk about the design, this Samsung model may seem to be ordinary. It has the usual Crystal Design but eventually you may find wanting the sleek outline of the Touch of Color model. However, go and take a closer look and you will notice that this simple crystal design actually has a blue tinge on it. Put it under a good lighting and you’ll see this hidden touch of color. But unfortunately, Samsung wasn’t able to make it as visible as the red edge on the bezel of the Touch of Color model.

But there’s still light at the bottom right of the screen. There are vertically arranged blue lights that lights up the pressure-sensitive buttons. They are visible when you turn the TV on and disappear shortly after.

In terms of motion resolution, this model can collect around 600 lines of resolution with 100Hz Motion Plus at Low level. The video processing, on the other hand, is average. You may notice a little blur in scaling. However, you do have the Upscaling DVD player to resolve such issue.

Picture-wise, you’ll be delighted to see the rich images from any movie you plan to watch on this TV. There is a high contrast ratio and the black glossy screen panel helps display darker scenes better. This dynamic contrast ratio is what makes the Samsung E0A786 interesting. It seems that after getting a glimpse of a film in this LED-based LCD TV, you’ll want to hide or dispose your traditional LCD display.
