The unit itself can be either wall-mounted, via use of a convenient and easily-installed bracket system, or left on its helpfully-supplied stand. It’s also an energy efficient television. That’s because it’s been recommended by the Energy Savings Trust, a UK government-affiliated non-profit set up to help address climate change.
The HD capabilities of the KDL32V5500 are impressive. It comes with enhanced contrast and advanced color reproduction abilities for a super-sharp picture. Perhaps one of its most intriguing features is that it has what Sony calls a “home networking” function. With it, a person can access movies from any DLNA-enabled personal computer in another room and watch them right on the big screen.
The HD clarity with this Sony Bravia model is excellent, at 1920×1080 pixel resolution. Sony’s proprietary Bravia Engine 3 technology is on hand to create superior contrast, picture depth and clarity, sharp colors and real-life tones all throughout the picture it puts up on the screen. Happily, it also can act as a digital picture frame, using what Sony calls its Picture Frame Mode.
This handy feature allows a user to always have something entertaining going on onscreen, even if no television programs or movies are being shown. There are also 4 HDMI inputs on the unit, with 2 in the rear and 2 on the side of the television. The Sony Bravia KDL32V5500 TV is exceedingly easy – because of the presence of all those HDMI inputs – to hook up to any number of HD sources like a BluRay player or a Playstation 3.
The model itself comes off as sleek and stylish in its handsome piano black finished casing. It also comes with a handy swivel function that allows the television to be swung about for maximum viewer enjoyment of the picture on screen. It can be moved with just a little push, in fact. Additionally, its included universal remote unit is one of the easiest in the industry to set up and use.
The Sony Bravia KDL32V5500 TV comes at a very reasonable price, given all the features that this 32-inch LCD television brings to the table. Sitting on a handy swivel stand or mounted to a wall, it’s a sure bet that most any viewer will find much to like and almost nothing to dislike.
